CPL Air Law | AIPA (March)
As a PPL holder, as PIC you are responsible for your safety, the safety of your passengers and aircraft.
At this stage of your career, this will most likely be family and friends only. Once you obtain your Commercial Pilots Licence and can fly aircraft for hire and/or reward, your responsibility can realistically extend to a lot more people!!
As PIC or even as a crew member, you will now have a duty to ensure each and every flight you conduct is done so within the law. You may find yourself flying for a Part 125 or Part 135 organization and be subject to the pressures that this will inevitably entail. Suddenly the weather forecast does not look so great, are all those bags accurately weighed and is the length of the runway you want to land on long enough? Decision making and situational awareness need to be at their peak, a robust understanding of the law is the foundation on which you will build this.
Our ground course will help you navigate these new areas of the law, not just from a theoretical point of view, but from a very practical aspect also. Real-world scenarios, situations and examples will help shift your mindset from one of a PPL pilot into one of a CPL pilot.
This is an extended version of the full-time ground course designed specifically for the Auckland International Pilot Academy (AIPA). This version of this ground course has more learning time spent on each subject in the classroom and also allows students to have an extra Study Day at the Club together with an Instructor to prepare for the exam.
